We are so excited that The Shoot Space is growing as a local and national resource for photographers! In response to increased demand and attention, particularly for the Wilmington studio rentals, we constantly evaluate our business policies and offerings to make sure we help the photography industry in the best way possible.
Our Mission Statement
At The Shoot Space, our mission is to further the photographic industry by providing education, building a community, and being a catalyst for success through the access to resources such as professional gear, lighting, documents, and studio settings.
Our goal for The Shoot Space has been to provide a resource for legitimate professionals to grow and improve their businesses. Inherent to that goal is to help professional photographers distinguish themselves, and therefore the profession, from hobbyists and those running illegal businesses.
Recently, The Shoot Space has had an influx of requests for rentals and memberships coming from the general public wanting to take their own photos in the Wilmington studio, rather than hiring a professional. To accommodate these requests would thus be counter to our mission statement.
Therefore, to better serve our local Wilmington photographic industry, the following changes will take effect January 1, 2017.
Single Use Studio Rental and Membership Updates
The following policies apply to both Single-Use Memberships and new Annual Memberships.
- The Shoot Space limits all memberships and usage to professional photographers, videographers, and other professional businesses only. (This has always been our policy, but a little reminder doesn’t hurt!)
- Proof of liability insurance in the renter’s/member’s name is required for all rentals and memberships. The Shoot Space must be added as an additional insured. This is for our safety, your safety, and the safety of your clients.
Single Use Studio Rental Updates
These policies affect Single-Use Memberships only and do not apply to Annual Memberships.
- Camera Room rentals must be reserved in the renting photographer or videographer’s name — for liability purposes, the room may not be rented by the client or model. (If you want to have your client reimburse you, that’s fine.)
- The 2017 rate for Single-Use Rentals will be $50 per hour, with a 4 hour minimum.
