The Shoot Space is proud to present “Lightroom to Manage Your Photography” — a one-day, two-part course that will take you from understanding essential Lightroom functions through practical applications to streamline how you handle images. This course is taught by Jeff and Lori Poole, award-winning photographers who will be speaking at ImagingUSA 2017!
Course Description:
Digital photography creates a whole host of workflow problems for photographers – file organization, resolution, conversion, processing, and more. Lightroom is a very powerful software solution designed to create a seamless workflow from file capture to file delivery. Yet many photographers are simply intimidated by this software beast, or they do not use it to its fullest potential. Join Jeff and Lori for a two-part course on understanding Lightroom and taking advantage of its workflow-streamlining potential.
Register for either course separately, or stay for the whole day and save! See below for details.
PART 1: Foundations in File Management & Processing
Sunday, November 20, 2016 // 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Learn to create a systematic and organized workflow system using Lightroom. In this course, we cover not only the essential Lightroom functions of file processing and conversion, but we will also cover its more sophisticated uses for file organization, integrations with Photoshop, and creating and using presets for workflow streamlining. Understand catalogs once and for all, learn better file culling, and come up with a file organization and backup strategy to eradicate that hot mess of files on your hard drive.
Round Table Lunch Q&A
Sunday, November 20, 2016 // 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
All registrants are invited to join us for a round-table discussion over lunch at Rucker John’s restaurant, adjacent to the studio. Meet your fellow classmates and ask your burning questions over a tasty meal.
PART 2: Integrated Workflow Solutions
Sunday, November 20, 2016 // 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
In Part 2, we apply the knowledge we learned in Part 1 to create a workflow that is both practical and user-friendly. We’ll dig deeper into Lightroom’s metadata-cataloging capabilities to help you market your photography. Keep your portfolio of favorite images maintained in real time with little effort. Integrate outsourcing. Perform in-person sales. Maintain your online galleries. Share files. And even upload directly to social platforms and file storage websites without converting files that take up space on your hard drive. Gain a fuller understanding of Lightroom, and leverage its functions to make your life easier and save time.
Whether you’re learning Lightroom for the first time, or you’re a seasoned pro ready to move beyond the Develop module, this course is for you.
