The Shoot Space: a studio for the Wilmington photographic community
On November 8, The Shoot Space welcomed award-winning Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman Pete Wright of PW Photography for a hands-on photography workshop, as he shared his unique style of Film Noir photography. Film Noir is a style of photography with its roots in old Hollywood glamour.
In the morning, Pete shared with us how he styles his shoots, including where to find the best props and how to build a set. He also discussed how he attracts clients for his niche photography, and his post-processing workflow and secrets.
Throughout the afternoon, we worked with models Kayli, Colleen-Maire, and Lydia; who were expertly styled by hair and makeup artists Tyler Zwan and Taylor Bungert under Pete’s direction. Pete then demonstrated proper posing and lighting techniques specific to the Film Noir genre.
Of course, it’s important for workshop attendees to feel they’ve learned something about photography! Based on these images that were captured by our workshop attendees, we’re calling this event a success!
