TSS Edu Series Workshop:
Sunday, September 13, 2015
Back by popular demand! We had so many requests for yet another repeat of our original Lighting Fundamentals workshop. You asked, we listened! But this will probably be our last Lighting Fundamentals workshop of 2015, so enroll now to secure your spot!
Learn how to use off camera flash in this comprehensive all-day workshop. From studio strobes to on-location OCF… from simple one-light setups to complex multi-light setups using softboxes, beauty dishes, strip banks and more. We start at the beginning with proper physical setup of strobes, including how to place lights on the stands. We explore the effects of various light modifiers to create hard light, soft light, directional light, accent/kicker light. We also delve basic portrait lighting patterns, and demonstrate where and how to place the lights for the desired effect.
Students will work hands-on with live models to practice the techniques taught in the class.
Weather permitting, we will move outdoors to investigate the use of lights on location! This allows you to create a look that simply can’t be achieved with natural light alone.
By the end of class, students will understand the basics of working with off-camera flash. Even moreso, you’ll feel ready to begin experimenting on your own to build your portfolio and skillset.
This course is ideal for photographers who…
- are new to working with off-camera flash, or
- who have some experience working with flash but don’t yet quite know where to place their lights to get the right “look”.
Date: Sunday, September 13, 10 am – 6 pm
Registration: $99 by August 31 / $125 after (space permitting). To ensure each student has time to work with the models, this class is limited to 15 students and is expected to sell out! Click here to purchase your registration.
