I want to see Wilmington's historic riverfront area and stay somewhere with lots of bars and restaurants. It's okay if I have to drive about 15 minutes to get to the studio.
Downtown Wilmington is for you, marked in red on the map. Go big at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside and stay right on the river. Or go for historic charm at Stemmerman’s Inn, or check out one of many bed-and-breakfasts in the area.
I'm going to the beach, baby! Put me somewhere so I can walk out and enjoy the sand in my toes. It's okay if I have to drive about 15 minutes to get to the studio.
You’ll want to stay in Carolina Beach or Wrightsville Beach, marked in green or yellow. Masonboro Island, while closest to the studio, is uninhabited and accessible only by boat. If you’re bringing the family, Carolina Beach will appeal with its summertime boardwalk and carnival. If you’re going a little more upscale, check out the many hotels of Wrightsville Beach.
If convenience is your goal, Monkey Junction is closest to the studio, marked in purple. It’s a suburban area, so there is less to do at night, but there are plenty of casual dining restaurants in the vicinity. Within walking distance to the studio is Best Western Plus. If you don’t mind a short drive, Beau Rivage Golf & Resort is a great plantation-style setting for the avid golfer.
